Job position: Assistant to the Country Manager

Location: Luanda, Angola

Start date: February 2025

Duration: 12 months

Purpose of the role

The assistant to the Country Manager (CM) will support the CM in carrying out activities aimed at achieving the goals of the projects implemented in the country.

Key duties:

  • Reviewing reports produced by Project Managers
  • Monitoring project deadlines and donor requests, in close collaboration with Project Managers and the desk officer at HQs.
  • Organizational assistance to the Country Manager for periodic meetings with staff.
  • Assisting the CM in preparing and conducting - where necessary - M&E visits to projects
  • Supporting the CM in preparing visits and missions by HQs or donors
  • Collaborating in the assessment, appraisal and writing of project proposals to be implemented in the country
  • Accompanying and/or supporting the CM - where required - in meetings with institutions, donors and stakeholders
  • Assisting the CM and/or representing the NGO - where required - participating in relevant meetings, conferences, events

Requirements

  • University Degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Economics or related fields
  • Previous experience as project assistant in low income countries; experience in reporting and/or project writing will be considered an asset
  • Excellent knowledge of Portuguese and Italian
  • Dynamism and flexibility

Condizioni contrattuali

TERMS OF CONTRACT

Type of contract: collaboration contract

Salary: TBD according to NGO salary grids and compensation policy (basic salary for the position, which is intended for junior profiles)

Rest days: 2.5 days for each month of work

Flight ticket: one return flight

Health issues: the NGO provides health insurance and covers vaccination costs

Visa and permits: the NGO bears the cost and paperwork for visa and work/residence permits

Accommodation: provided by the NGO, it is generally individual, depending on the logistical situation and the availability of accommodation in the workplace

Other costs: the NGO covers costs related to housing utilities and internet; food and personal expenses are covered by the worker
