Job position: Humanitarian Expert (South Omo)

Location: Dassenech and Bena Tsemay, South Omo Zone, Ethiopia

Start date: February 2025

Purpose of the role

The Humanitarian Expert will work closely with the Project Manager, to ensure quality and technical support to management and implementation of an emergency project providing primary health services in flooded areas.

Key duties:

• Monitoring the level of achievement of targets and the progress of activities, pushing - if necessary - for the achievement of project goals and the implementation of activities contributing to the planning of any missing activities
  
• Verifying and validating the work plan, the Operational Plan and the Periodic Monitoring Plan
  
• Monitoring the operational process and proposes possible adjustments
  
• Contributing to data collection and analysis
  
• Participating into the evaluation of project staff
  
• Maintaining and developing relations with local authorities at different levels
  

Requirements

• Degree in development cooperation, social work, health sciences
• Good knowledge of English
• Previous experience in managing cooperation projects in fragile and/or low resources countries; previous experience in managing health projects will be an asset
• Previous experience in managing emergency projects will be considered an asset
• Adaptability to live and work in remote areas and difficult conditions
